Sourced directly from our friends in Shizuoka - Japans largest tea producing region.
Made from shade grown, first flush leaves.
Hand picked and stone ground.
15 servings
Suggested Preparation:
Traditional Matcha (Usucha):
Sift 2 grams of matcha into a bowl. Add 70-80 ml of hot water at 80°C.
Whisk briskly in a zigzag motion until a fine froth appears on the surface.
Matcha Latte:
Sift 2 grams of matcha into a bowl.
Add 30 ml of hot water at 80°C and whisk to dissolve.
Pour into a cup and add 200 ml of steamed milk. Sweeten to taste.
Production Process:
Shading: The tea plants are shaded for 20-30 days before harvest to enhance amino
acids and chlorophyll, which deepens the sweetness and colour of the leaves.
Drying: The harvested leaves are dried using a special Tencha drying method, which enhances their aroma and flavour.
Cutting and Sifting: The dried leaves are cut and sifted to remove impurities.
Milling: The leaves are finely ground to 10-20 microns using traditional mills.
